Privately-held Wild Calling Pet Food (f/k/a Western Plains Seed Provisions and d/b/a Natural Pet Specialties, Natural Pet Marketplace and Petersen Packaging) filed for Chapter 11 protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Colorado, case number 17-19898.
The Company, which manufactures and sells domestic pet nutritional products, is represented by Joli A. Lofstedt of Connolly & Lofstedt. Wild Calling Pet Food was founded by the Petersen family in 2012 as Natural Pet Marketplace with Timothy Petersen as C.E.O.
A spokesperson for Wild Calling Pet Food explains, “Do we want to make money? Of course we want to make money. But we want to do it the right way. We want to feel good about ourselves. And we want to feel good about our pets.”
According to documents filed with the Court, the Company lists more than $4.5 million in unsecured claims; and funds will be available for distribution to unsecured creditors. Wild Calling Pet Food’s petition indicates $500,001 to $1 million in pre-petition assets.
