Toronto, Canada-based Pacific Exploration & Production and certain direct and indirect subsidiary Debtors filed for Chapter 15 protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York, case number 16-11189. The Company, which explores and produces natural gas and crude oil, is represented by Joseph G. Minias of Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
The Company concurrently initiated proceedings under Canada’s Companies Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) and PricewaterhouseCoopers was appointed monitor. The U.S. and Canadian filings relate to the Company’s comprehensive restructuring transaction and agreement with certain noteholders, lenders and The Catalyst Group.
