Privately-held Pere Marquette Hotel, LLC has filed for Chapter 11 protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of Illinois, lead case number 18-80361. The Company is based in East Peoria, IL and currently headed by Jeffrey T. Varsalone as Chief Restructuring Officer. Pere Marquette Hotel is represented in bankruptcy proceedings by Elizabeth B. Vandesteeg of Sugar Felsenthal Greis & Helsinger LLP.
Documents filed with the Court state, “The Debtors collectively own and operate two hotels and a related parking garage in downtown Peoria, Illinois. The Peoria Pere Marquette Hotel dates from 1927, and reopened as a full service Marriott in June 2013 following an extensive renovation. The Courtyard Peoria Downtown, which is newly constructed, opened in June of 2014. Both hotels operate with Marriott International, Inc. brand affiliations.”
The Company cites estimated assets and liabilities at $50 to $100 million with between 100 and 200 creditors.
