The U.S. Bankruptcy Court issued an order approving the private sale of substantially all assets free and clear of liens, claims, encumbrances, and interest of New England Confectionery Company. The order states, “After an open cry auction, the chapter 11 trustee accepted the bid of Spangler Candy Company in the amount of $18,830,000.00 as the highest and best bid received. The motion to sell is allowed and the Trustee is authorized to sell to Spangler in the amount of its bid.”
