According to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court docket, the Court issued an order directing the U.S. Trustee assigned to the Hancock Fabrics’ case to appoint a consumer privacy ombudsman.
The notice states, “The Debtors are pursuing a sale transaction that may involve a transfer of personally identifiable information…and it further appearing to the Court that a hearing pursuant to Bankruptcy Code section 363(b)(1)(B) will, therefore be required to consider approval of the sale transaction; and upon consent of the Debtor’s, it is hereby ordered that…the Office of the United States Trustee for the District of Delaware (the ‘U.S. Trustee’) is directed to appoint one (1) disinterested person (other than the U.S. Trustee) to serve as the consumer privacy ombudsman.”
